Fodor's Review

The closest lodge to the Monteverde reserve has enormous rooms, with wood paneled walls and ceilings, marvelously crafted wood furniture, balconies, and lovely views from most. The woodsy style is appropriate, as the lodge is surrounded by trees, just a 10-minute walk from the park entrance. Ground-floor rooms in the main building are close to the restaurant and lobby, and have solarium-like enclosed glass balconies. Rooms in the newer buildings are a bit of a hike but

have better views. The friendly Chilean owners are always around to provide personalized service. Other than a small hut-like enclosure near the entrance, the entire property is nonsmoking.
