Fodor's Review

Despite the relative isolation—you're several kilometers beyond Tabacón—this is a favorite among posters, largely because each hillside room has a huge picture window and door opening to an individual balcony with stupendous volcano views. Rooms are decorated with locally made art and bamboo-frame beds, and suites have vaulted ceilings, garden showers, and private whirlpools. A few cottages are tucked away on the grounds and make ideal getaways for families.

The spa and two pools make it a relaxing stay. The location, a short drive above the Arenal Dam, makes this a good bet if you have your own vehicle, but taxis can ferry you to and from area attractions, too.
