Seafood is an unexpected treat up here in the mountains, and it's fresh: the owner gets shipments from Puntarenas several times a week. The place is nothing fancy—expect wooden tables and chairs, with nautical decor and lots of local flavor—but when area residents want a special meal, this is where they come. Portions are big, but prices aren't. You could have trouble finishing the generous mixed seafood platter with shrimp, crab, and octopus in a white-wine sauce,
or the jumbo shrimp with a sauce of mushrooms and hearts of palm. The seafood soup and fish kabobs are smaller portions, allowing you to save room for the coconut flan.

Tasty fish dinners, plus pleasant & informal atmosphere. Food travels from basement kitchen via dumbwaiter. Busy! Fun!
