Fodor's Review

The best bargain in town, this long-established family hotel offers two-bedroom garden villas as well as a pleasant, two-story annex with 16 spacious rooms. The annex sits in a quiet corner of the large, lush garden; its rooms have two double beds, small refrigerators, cable TV, and air-conditioning. Two ground-floor rooms are wheelchair accessible. Oddly, a few of the rooms have only cold water, or as the Ticos like to say, agua corriente (room-temperature water).

If you're willing to cook for yourself, the pleasantly furnished villas can accommodate up to six. Be prepared for the sound of kids playing in the pool and garden. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes, and there are nearby restaurants for breakfast.
