Punta Islita
Punta Islita Review
Punta Islita is named for a tiny tuft of land that becomes an island at high tide. It's synonymous in Costa Rica with Hotel Punta Islita, one of the country's most exclusive, luxurious, and gorgeous resorts, popular with honeymooners and romantics of any age. The curved beach is rocky but good for walking, especially at low tide when tidal pools form in the volcanic rock. Not to be missed is a stroll through the small village, which has become an artistic work in progress, thanks to a community art project led by a few renowned Costa Rican artists who have turned almost all the buildings into galleries, workshops, or works of art in themselves. Just about everything—from outdoor activities to food—revolves around, and is available through, the resort.
