With just a few rooms on the quiet, southern end of Tamarindo beach, this friendly, family-run beachfront place is one of Tamarindo's most peaceful lodging options. Two cabinas on the beach have sleeping areas separated by 5-foot-high walls from living rooms with futon couches and kitchenettes with granite counters and coffeemakers. Narrow front terraces have ocean views through a high iron fence—security first—with hammocks hung between the trees on the other side of the gate. Behind those bungalows is a small tile pool hemmed by gardens, and the casita, which occupies the ground floor of the building that holds the owners' apartment. Though less private than the cabinas, the casita is slightly larger, with two futon couches, a kitchen, and glass doors that open onto the pool area. There's also a budget-option studio apartment overlooking the front driveway. Guests have use of beach chairs and boogie boards, and there are several restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. The owner also has a four-bedroom, ocean-view house for rent nearby.
