Guanacaste and the Nicoya Peninsula Hotels

Luz de Mono

  • Secluded feel although in center of town
  • Lots of shade in huge garden
  • Conveniently located

  • Some steeper inclines to reach villas

Fodor's Review

About 50 meters (160 feet) from the beach, downtown Montezuma's most upscale hotel has comfortable, tastefully decorated rooms amidst a lush, almost junglelike garden. An open-air dome contains a low-key bar and restaurant ($$). Gravel trails lead to a two-story concrete building that houses spacious, all-white rooms with high ceilings, wooden trim and furniture, original artwork, TVs, and small fridges. Fully equipped, secluded, concrete villas have large wooden decks with sea views and all the comforts of home. There’s a large, sunny, rectangular pool with an ocean view, plus a baby pool with a slide.
