Getting Here and Around
The road through Cartago continues east through Paraíso, where you turn left at the northeast corner of the central park to pick up the road to Turrialba. Marked by signs, this road leads north to Guayabo National Monument. Direct buses between San José and Turrialba leave hourly (8 am to 8 pm; slower buses run as early as 5:15 am and as late as 10 pm) from Calle 13, Avenida 6, just west of the downtown court buildings. Direct buses depart from the Turrialba terminal (at the entrance to Turrialba) for San José on the hour from 5 am to 5 pm; on the half hour to Cartago, and every two hours to Siquirres.
