Los Sueños Marriott Ocean and Golf Resort Review

This mammoth multimillion-dollar resort in a palatial colonial-style building has a gorgeous view of Herradura Bay and combines modern amenities with traditional Central American decorative motifs, such as barrel-tile roofing and hand-painted tiles. Rooms here, though attractive and some of the country's most expensive, are nothing special compared with those at smaller hotels in the same price range. They have marble baths, wooden furniture, and tiny balconies. Be sure to get one with an ocean view, or you'll be contemplating condos. An enormous pool with islands and swim-up bars, a Ted Robinson golf course called La Iguana, a modern marina, zip lining, and various diversions are designed to keep you on-site and entertained.

One of the best hotels in Latinamerica

Extraordinary hotel in a unique location. I have attended a business meeting for 3 days and couldn´t be better for the purpose. The meeting rooms are great, the rooms are superb, food and service excellent, the pool is a paradise. I would return to Costa Rica with my family and would stay here again.

    Great pool - no beach

This is a beautiful property in a not-so-nice town. The rooms were fine - what is really nice about this hotel is the exceptional pool - think lots of different smaller pools connected by shallow waterways and surrounded by lush landscaping and sunbathing iguanas. The service is fantastic. However, there are also lots of families with small children or teenagers running around. Plus the pool area is quite loud with organized water aerobics and piped in dance/techno music. The nearby town of Jaco has a couple good restaurants - otherwise, don't waste your time.
