Tango Mar Resort Review

Set on stunning, palm-fringed Playa Quizales (a Blue Flag beach) and backed by 5 acres of exuberant gardens and a 9-hole executive golf course, this comfortable, contemporary resort has a wide range of luxurious lodging options that appeal to families, couples of every age, and honeymooners. (It was featured on the slightly scandalous TV series Temptation Island.) A large rock reef just offshore provides some protection for swimmers, but if you don't want to brave the waves there are three exquisitely designed swimming pools, one with a waterfall. (Just a short hike away, there's also an impressive waterfall, during rainy season, that drops right into the sea.) Hammocks are strung between coconut trees and plenty of comfortable lounges dot the beachfront. Every room—from tropical villas high on a ridge to spacious standard rooms in a three-story building a stone’s throw from the beach—has endless ocean views and terraces to catch ocean breezes. The most sought-after suites are the romantic, wooden Tiki huts with whirlpool tubs. There are also villas with two to five bedrooms, all with ample private terraces overlooking the sand. Breakfast and dinner, a mix of sophisticated Costa Rican and Continental cuisines, are served at the elegant main restaurant; lunch is at the attractive, open-air poolside restaurant. On-site activities include rides along the beach on horses from the hotel’s own stables, golf ($20 greens fees), and tennis on two courts. A spa and hair salon provide serious pampering opportunities.

    Tango Mar Resort Review

I recently just stayed there for my 5 year anniversary 2 weeks ago. It was the worst vacation I have ever had. I will never recommend or suggest this place to anyone. I have never been so poorly treated by the staff or had a hotel staff care less about customer care. I will also be leaving comments about how bad m exsperiance was on any website that I can to prevent anyone else from having as horrible of an exsperiance I did. I have never paid so much to be treated so badly, given multiple unclean rooms. I can't believe you call a room filled with ants a tikki suite. My husband still has ants bites weeks later. The food was terrible with the same limited menu every night. The beach is completly unusable. The undertow is so strong u cant even go in the water any further than mid shin and even that is a struggle to get back to shore. The whole beach is litterd with wood and trash they don't even bother to clean. The tiki suites are located off the main road so every car, truck, dirt bike and person that walks by you can hear. The bugs are one the worst parts I had some in my suitcase when we returned home. They were everywhere in the room you couldn't get rid of them. The hotel is located down a very deserted road so you can't go anywhere but the hotel grounds. Please head my warming and find somewhere else to stay.

    Intimate, luscious and Wild

I almost did not go to this hotel because of a poor review I read. But as my husband and I traveled around Costa Rica popping into hotels unannounced, we stumbled across it and we were tired so I said lets just go see. We drove down about a kilometer through a jungle forest and a golf course and stables, and arrived. I had wanted to find something on the beach, and boy was I delightfully surprised! We rented a room for only one night just to try the hotel out, and ended up staying three nights. This is uncustomary for me as I like to pop in and around. But this hotel was something else! Howler monkeys by the pool as you drink cocktails, very inexpensive horse back riding on the beach, lots of wild animals to see and enjoy. The beach was gorgeous and so close to the room you could hear the waves at night. Paths through the forest that lead you to exquisite secret locations, one a waterfall. The owner was delightful, I cant say enough about it! Montezuma is right down the road if you want a little party excitement. I only put 4 on service because we stayed at another hotel where they really did kiss your %$!...he he Pura Vida!
