Anaconda Restaurant
Anaconda Restaurant Review
Named for the humongous snake whose skin is mounted on the wall behind the bar, this open-air restaurant is hidden in the rain forest. You won't see any anacondas (they are found in South America), but you may spot iguanas, squirrel monkeys, or various species of birds from one of the restaurant's oversize chairs. You are sure to enjoy the view of the coast. The eclectic menu ranges from Japanese-style tuna to Tuscan mahimahi. They also serve excellent pastas and salads. The restaurant is a short drive from the beach, making it an excellent option for a quiet lunch.

The view here is undeniable - by day it is full of ocean and rainforest, by night the atmosphere is candlelit and quiet. The prices are a bit high, but you pay for the view and also the convenience if you are a guest at the Costa Verde hotel (which has 3 restaurants). Breakfast is decent Tico or American fare and available starting at 6 am. As for dinner, the Mediterranean veggie platter was great for two people, three pepper tuna steak was delicious and the margaritas were a sweet end to a hot day.
FYI they will make box lunches for you if you are headed to the beach or the park for the day. This includes a sandwich (big enough for 2), a banana, and a bottle of water.
