Agua Azul

Agua Azul Review

This simple second-floor restaurant with a small kitchen in one corner offers a breathtaking view by day and a deliciously inventive selection of seafood at night. The lunch menu is strong on salads and sandwiches, but the dinner options include some of the best entrées in town. In addition to nightly fish and pasta specials, they offer such inventive delicacies as seared tuna over a tequila-and-lime cucumber salad, calamari sautéed with capers and olives, and coconut-crusted mahimahi.

There are about 10 tables here, and they get crowded quickly with American tourists. The view is lost in the evenings when it is pitch black over the ocean, although we were treated to a lightning storm in early September.

Shrimp bruschetta is to die for, and fish tacos mediocre. Spicy chocolate cake is perfection. Reasonably priced.
