Mango Moon Hotel Review

The cream-color rooms vary in size and amenities, but the intimate atmosphere and hospitable staff make you feel as if you're staying with a friend rather than at a hotel. The comfy, open living-room area extends to a balcony lined with a wooden counter and stools with views to the mango-shape pool below and a tranquil cove framed by the rain forest. More-expensive rooms have semiprivate balconies, and those on the top floor can connect for families. Monkey-attracting mango trees surround the building, and a steep 20-minute trail leads to a secluded beach. All the rooms here are nonsmoking.

    Misleading

    We were traveling for the first time out of the country for our honeymoon and chose Mango Moon as a place to stay b/c the reviews said it was unique, serene and had wonderful service. When we arrived construction was taking place (we were not told this would be the case in advance), the owner was out of town and a rude man was there in her place (he watched his TV so loud that we could not sleep in our bed on our honeymoon) and even after we made the owner aware of our situation- she did not respond. Overall- we were thoroughly disappointed in our inability to relax on our honeymoon at a place that was advertised as tranquil. Another couple on their honeymoon left for alternative lodging while we were there for the same reasons we listed above.

    Mango Moon is gorgeous!

    I've stayed in 1 star to 5 star hotels, and Mango Moon is great. The staff (Rebecca, John, and Diego) are friendly and warm. The room is big, bright, comfortable decorated in tropical decor. The shower has room for 2 and the A/C is cold... The friendly staff will cook you anything for breakfast and Diego is an excellent chef for dinner. Oh, the view... is stunning. The sun sets, right in front of you as you sip your mango margarita! I definitely, will stay here again.
