Expect swan towels and plastic flowers at this comfortable but slightly dated hotel, best known for its proximity to good surf and fresh fish. A dramatic spiral staircase leads to second-floor rooms, each with an ocean view and either a large balcony or a terrace. Those on the first floor have direct beach access but lack privacy since they are closest to the restaurant. The surf breaks right in front, just beyond the skinny coconut palms. Rooms are standard size, with one king or two queen beds, and a small bathroom. The bright, airy restaurant also overlooks the beach; the menu is limited but the food gets raves. There's a small pool in back and board rental for $20 per day.

Great location, short drive to Jaco Beach or Manuel Antonio. Simple, clean rooms. Quiet, but lively staff and regular guests make for an interesting evening! Bartender, Minor, makes the best drinks in Costa Rica with fresh fruit and homemade mixers. Restaurant is inexpensive and serves fresh red snapper, shrimp, ceviche, as well as items Americans are used to like chicken fingers and french fries. Simple breakfast is included and all you need to start
the day. Great, little pool, hot tub and outdoor lounge area. Computer access, but in Spanish. Long distance phone was not operational. Saw iguanas and exotic birds. Free parking. Beautiful beach with waves to surf or body surf.
