In Belize, the lightly traveled rural byways are good for biking, although the rough roads mean you should be prepared for lots of flats. Mountain Pine Ridge, with hardly any traffic on the miles of old logging roads, is an ideal spot for mountain biking. Bicycle racing has become an important sport in Belize, and you often see teams training.

Bike Rentals

In Belize, you can rent mountain bikes in Cayo and road bikes in the Ambergris Caye and Placencia resort areas. Rates are around BZ$29 to BZ$30 a day or BZ$80 to BZ$100 a week. Many resorts and lodges offer bikes to guests, sometimes on a complimentary basis.
