Davis Falls
Davis Falls Review
Getting to Davis Falls requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle or tractor and wagon and an arduous 2 mi (3 1/3 km) hike, but the falls here are about 500 feet high and are the second highest in the country (after 1,000-Foot Falls in the Mountain Pine Ridge), and the natural pool at the base of the falls is 75 feet deep. The swimming is wonderful, and the undisturbed forest around the falls is great for a picnic or enjoying nature. Before going to Davis Falls, stop at the Citrus Products of Belize plant (Mile 42) or at Awe & Sons store in Alta Vista village (Mile 40), for information and to pay your admission fee. Tours of Davis Falls are offered by several tour guides including IBTM Tours near Punta Gorda and by Holistic Eco Tours at Steadfast village.
