Billy Barquedier National Park is a 1,500-acre park along the Hummingbird Highway in Stann Creek District. Managed by the Belize Forest Service and established in 2001, the park is still in its infancy. While it offers no spectacular sights, it does have primitive hiking trails and the Barquedier Waterfall (locally sometimes called Bac-a-Der Waterfall). It's part of a community co-management program for parks and reserves, in this case with the Steadfast Tourist and Conservation group of Steadfast village. It's best to enter the park via the northern entrance at Mile 16½ of the Hummingbird Highway.
