Table Rock Lodge Review
Though but a fledging lodge, this intimate jungle spot offers the seamless service and mature landscaping of a veteran resort that has long since mastered the art of accommodation, and the delicious meals are yet another reason to stay here. The four cottages, which have tile floors and four-poster beds, are tastefully textured by Guatemalan fabrics. The owners, an engaging young American couple, designed Table Rock for sustainability. The ecolodge is on a small working farm. The lodge's cobblestone walkways and thick awnings of foliage gracefully blend into the jungle setting, perched just above the Macal River. You can explore winding pathways and cut trails down to the river, or visit with the resident donkeys, Napoleon and Josephine. Table Rock has its own chef, and the innovative meals here, using local ingredients in surprising ways, are superb. A meal package including breakfast and dinner is BZ$64 per person plus 22.5% tax and service. Riverside camping also is available for around BZ$60 plus tax, including tent, set up and break down, and firewood. There's Wi-Fi in the dining room. In 2011, Table Rock was named Small Hotel of the Year by the Belize Tourism Board.
