After a day out and about, a cold Belikin and filling Mexican and Belizean dishes await you at this cluster of neat-as-a-pin cabins. Tent camping (BZ$10 per person) is also available, as is a common kitchen for preparing your own grub. Michigan expats and their Belizean partners opened this spot on top of a hill near Xunantunich in 1998. It's an exceptional find, particularly for budget travelers, as cabins (with showers and composting toilets around the corner) start at just BZ$24 per person or BZ$40 double. Large new double cabins with private bath are BZ$70. Here you can also hike nature trails, visit the butterfly farm, and play Frisbee golf at the only disc golf course in Belize. Pros: Top value for the money, friendly owners. Cons: Just a couple steps up from camping; location means you'll have to take a bus or taxi to most sights.
