Maya Mountain Lodge Review

Designed with the nature lover in mind, this hilltop lodge aspires toward comfort rather than luxury. Owners Bart and Suzi Mickler designed the nature trails. One trail passes 150 edible jungle plant species; the other focuses on ornamental plants. The whitewashed, renovated cottages all have private patios. A large wooden building has rooms, renovated with air-conditioning added, for budget-conscious guests (BZ$118 double, plus 19% tax and service); a meal plan is (BZ$70 plus 22.5% tax and service) required if staying in the budget rooms. The pleasant open-air dining room serves wholesome food. There's an above-ground pool, and the lodge runs a variety of tours and trips.
