Benny's Kitchen

Benny's Kitchen Review

This little open-air restaurant near Xunantunich has won many fans who come for hearty Mayan and Creole dishes at rock-bottom prices. Most items on the menu are BZ$10 or less, including chilimole (chicken with mole sauce), cow-foot soup, escabeche, and stew pork with rice, beans and plantains. The classic Mayan pibil (pork cooked in an underground oven), when available, is BZ$12. The banana licuados (milkshakes) are delicious.

well i have been going to this restaurant since it first opened. At the beginning they had great service, but as the years passed their service has gone down drastically. The service is horrible, for something as simple as a plate of Rice and Beans, which as my years of cooking experience the rice and beans should be ready, but the quickest time I have gotten my food the last time i was there was 45mins and there were only like 6 persons in the vicinity. As you can see, I don't have a good rating for this place. Maybe 3 years ago I could have thought different. But all good things must come to an end, that's if the management does not put money of their service. so Two Thumbs down.
