Though it's in the center of San Ignacio, on bustling Burns Avenue, this small hotel is an oasis of quiet and one of Belize's top budget choices. The rooms, with cool white, mahogany-trimmed walls and locally made wood furniture, are a big step above typical budget lodging. You can prepare yourself snacks or full meals in the shared kitchen, and you're within walking distance of a dozen or more restaurants. Casa Blanca is often fully booked, even off-season. Pros: Central downtown location, extremely clean, appealing rooms, good value. Cons: Limited parking nearby.

If you're looking for a less resort oriented experience in the Cayo, Casa Blanca is the place to stay! Clean, comfortable, and in the heart of San Ignacio, the hotel is right across the street from fantastic Hanna's restaurant, and walking distance from most other in-town eating. Watching fireworks on New Year's eve from the balcony and waving to the parade is something I won't soon forget. The staff is exceptional for their friendliness and willingness to point you in the right direction.
