Visitor Information
There is no official tourism information office in the Cayo. The best way to find out what's going on in the San Ignacio area is to stop by Eva's in San Ignacio, a café that doubles as an unofficial visitor center. You can also contact local tour operators. The Belize Tourism Board Web site, www.travelbelize.org, has some information on visiting the Cayo. Another Web site, Toucan Trail, www.toucantrail.com, supported by the Belize Tourism Board, has excellent information on budget travel in Belize, including the Cayo. Belize Explorer, www.belizex.com, formerly operated by BTIA but now a private Web site affiliated with Cahal Pech Village hotel in San Ignacio and a few other hotels, still has some useful information on tours, attractions, and travel services in the Cayo. Belmopan City Online (www.belmopancityonline.com) has some tourism information on the Belmopan area.
