Five Sisters Falls & Lodge Review

With a laid-back and romantic style, this Belizean-owned lodge is perched on a steep hill above the five small waterfalls that give the place its name. A small, open-air hydraulic lift will take you down to the river if you're eager to avoid the 286 steps. After your swim, the thatch-roof bar is a great place to unwind. Accommodations are in suites or thatch cabañas with screened porches. A privately owned villa, managed by the lodge, with a stunning riverside setting below the falls (BZ$595 with tax and service), is the top choice here. Its driveway allows you to avoid the steep steps. The lodge's restaurant, with a beautiful view of the falls, prepares savory Belizean food at reasonable prices (dinner BZ$22 to BZ$36, plus 22.5% tax and service).
