The Trek Stop Review

After a day spent out and about, a cold Belikin and filling Mexican and Belizean dishes await you at this cluster of neat-as-a-pin cabins on a hilltop near Xunantunich ruins. This lodge is an exceptional find, particularly for budget travelers, as basic wood cabins (with solar-heated showers and composting toilets around the corner) start at just BZ$48 double, plus tax. Larger double cabins with private baths are BZ$76 plus tax. The "honeymoon jungle suite," the top-of-the-line cabin here, is just BZ$120 plus tax. Tent camping (BZ$10 per person) is also available, as is a common kitchen for preparing your own grub. Here you can also hike nature trails, visit the Tropical Wings butterfly farm, check your email with free Wi-Fi, and play Frisbee golf (free for guests). If you want to go to San Ignacio or elsewhere, walk down the hill and flag down a bus or collective taxi on the Benque Road.
