Fodor's Review

This jungle lodge is operated by the Tut (pronounced Toot) family—Mom and Dad Tut and their 10 (!) children. Mom and the daughters cook and run the lodge, and several of the sons are accomplished guides for birding, caving, and river expeditions. There's a range of accommodations, from two simple rooms to a collection of traditional thatch cabañas with views of the Macal River Valley. Rates for the cabañas are BZ$207 double including tax. A breakfast and dinner package adds BZ$50 per person. Among the more unusual tours offered by the Tuts are those to Elijio Panti National Park (BZ$110) and combined birding and archeological tours to El Pilar (BZ$150 per person, including admission to El Pilar).
