Smithsonian Institution's Marine Research Laboratory Review
The Smithsonian Institution's Marine Research Laboratory, conducting a long-term Caribbean Coral Reef Ecosystems Program study, accepts visitors and study groups who come to Carrie Bow Caye for periods of one to three weeks. Reservations usually are made months in advance. For information contact the Smithsonian Marine Station in Fort Pierce, Florida. It also sometimes accepts shorter-term visitors by appointment; contact the Blue Marlin Lodge on South Water Caye for more information.
