Capricorn is consistently excellent and one of the more popular upscale restaurants on the island. If there's a weakness, it's that the chefs stay with proven winners, such as filet mignon, stone crab claws, and grilled lobster and rarely opt for innovation. At dinner, the seaside setting is romantic. Although the focus here has always been on the restaurant, there are three cute little cabañas. You can get here by golf cart, cab, or water taxi.

Highly recommended by us. My boyfriend and I chose Capricorn for a light meal and a beer. We were immediately greeted by the owner who was very personable. We sat at the bar next to his son who was also very nice. I enjoyed my salad very much as it was just like the ones I make at home, with lots of fruit. My boyfriend also devoured his chicken wings before I could even try one, but they looked delicious. The warm bowl of water and fresh towel for
his hands added a nice touch as well. More than anything, the company of father and son really made the experience for us. We talked for a long time and felt very at home here. If only we'd had more time to come back.

The best thing about Capricorn is the boat ride under the stars to the restaurant (if you are staying on the southern side of the island) and the ambiance at the seaside restaurant. It is warmly decorated and very comfortable. I had fresh crab claws, which I enjoyed, but my boyfriend's meal, one of the fresh fish dishes, was less than impressive. We also had their chocolate cake for desert, which was good, but unimpressive. For the prices and high
reviews, we would have expected to be "wowed". The service was also "just okay" - the waitstaff was friendly, but nothing outstanding. It was a little disconcerting to see them putting away (clearing away placesettings, candles, etc) the unoccupied tables as we were finishing our meal. My advice, take the boat ride to Capricorn, order a bottle of wine and an appetizer and enjoy the atmosphere.

My wife and I ate at the Capricorn due to the high ratings. The only attraction is the location. It is romantic. The food was mediocre and the service was horrible. The waitress was apathetic, as was the hostess. Orders were wrong, the waitress was poorly informative. The average price for dinner is $25 American. Yet the servings are small, and the food mediocre. Out of the four couples returning on our water taxi not one recommended the food. I emailed
the "new" owner regarding the poor service but he never responded.
