Caye Chapel Island Resort

Fodor's Review:

Designed as a corporate retreat by the owner, a Kentucky coal baron, this resort now accommodates anyone who's got the cash. The expansive villas, which stand at imperial attention along the seafront, are similar to what you might see in exclusive gated communities in Boca Raton, Florida. Inside you'll find every luxury—whirlpool baths, expansive wet bars, and kitchens with the latest German appliances. A dozen "budget" casitas, with single and double suites (BZ$750 including tax, service, and fees) have a price tag that's significantly less than the villas. Rates include use of a golf cart and unlimited golf. The golf course's clubhouse has a restaurant with indoor and open-air dining and stunning views of the sea. Meal plan is BZ$150 per day per person, plus 25% service, tax, and fees. Pros: It's like having your own private island with a golf course, stunning villas, beautiful setting. Cons: It's like being in a country club 24/7, very expensive.
