Fodor's Review:

For the most romantic setting in the city, ask for a table on the wraparound balcony overlooking the harbor. The friendly staff and consistently excellent food also make the Harbour View a favorite of Belize's power brokers. The seafood is especially good; try the snapper with mango chutney, cooked in a banana leaf. Pork dishes, especially Pork Picasso with a hot pepper relish, also are delicious.

Always Good

I travel to Belize often on business and this is sthe only restaurant I will eat at. It's close by to hotel that I stay and the food and service is always good. The Lobster is the best and they have it year round..most restaurants in Belize don't. They have live Music some nights. This place is always full so call first

Ruined expectations

Just last night four of us ate at this restaurant. We were staying at a near by hotel and were looking for a nice dinner as a culmination to our vacation. Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed. First, let me note a few positive things about this establishment. Its location is very convenient to the few major hotels catering to the tourists and cruise ships. General area is safe and easily assessable. Second floor veranda provides a fine view of the city harbor and gives an exceptional view of the sunset. Staff is very attentive. Restaurant even has life guitar music. Unfortunately, most of the food is bad. There is just no other way to describe it. Cucumber and mint soup was watery and flavorless. Spicy shrimp soup consisted of over salted brown brine and tiny overcooked shrimp. Fritters, dumplings, and especially seviche were good. Goat cheese and spinach salad barely had any cheese. Snapper (one of the dishes recommended by Fodor) was extremely over cooked. Coconut rice was tuff and flavorless. Coconut crusted salmon was also over done. Filet mignon was salted beyond measure. Deserts were also hit and miss. Chocolate cake and fried cheesecake were good. Bread pudding was runny and tasteless. Dinner for four with a few drinks cost us in the range of $250. Our experience was extremely disappointing. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant. Try your culinary luck some where else. Shame on Fodor for their misleading review.
