Princess Hotel & Casino

Fodor's Review:

Big-time gambling arrived in Belize City when the casino opened at this sprawling hotel, the largest in Belize, in 2000. Though it's not the MGM Grand, the casino has tables for blackjack, poker, craps, roulette, and more than 400 slot and video game machines. Belize's only movie theaters and bowling alley are also here, and the hotel has several popular bars and nightclubs, including Next and Club Level. Alas, the rooms and service aren't as exciting as the gaming. Even the most expensive rooms sorely need upgrading, and new carpets, linens, and a good spring cleaning are in order. Guests have complained about unpleasant odors in the hotel. The big money is in the casino, so guest service in the hotel is often notably lacking. Gamble here if you like, but don't stay here. Pros: Waterfront location, popular venue for meetings, Belize City's only casino. Cons: Rooms and hotel service are disappointing at best.
