Golf in Belize City

There are no golf courses in Belize City, but there's a spectacular one at Caye Chapel, about a half hour away by water taxi, or 10 minutes by plane.

Caye Chapel Island Resort (Caye Chapel. 226/8250 or 800/901-8938. www.cayechapel.com) has an 18-hole, par 72, 7,000-yard course, beautifully laid out along the sea. At this exclusive and remote course, you don't have to worry about tee times or round limits. Unpredictable trade winds and crocodiles in the water hazards make play challenging. A day package at the island costs BZ$400 per person for all the golf you can play (8 AM-4 PM, golf cart and club rental, use of the beach and swimming pool, and round-trip air from Belize City. Members of your party who are not golfers pay BZ$200 including round-trip air from Belize City. Advance reservations required.
