This small, discreet, romantic hotel, lovingly designed by Mexican architect Manuel Oreanámos, has one of the coast's most sumptuous beaches. Each of the four large suites is strikingly different from the next. The Arroyo suite has a stream of water running above a round king-size bed, the Caleta has a double shower in a secluded garden, the Cenote promotes relaxation with its meditation room and to-die-for ocean view, and the Cascada commands a stunning vista of Puerto Aventuras from its L-shaped balcony.

Quiet, Peaceful, and Perfect

The 5 rating is not quite HIGH enough for La Casa del Agua! After the 1.5 hour drive from Cancun Int'l. Airport (a straight ride, no turns) I was greeted with a margarita on the rocks. My suite, the Cenote Suite, was the largest, most spacious, and peaceful room. There are no telephones nor televisions(at the time of this review, but that is slated to change in 2007). The shower of my suite was VERY large - enough to accomodate 4 people! The decor is rustic and quite artisan. A full and complete breakfast is served daily (fresh squeezed juice included). For dinner gourmet meals (deliciously prepared) are available. Try the Caribbean Grill Dinner (e.g., lobster/fresh fish, and 5 courses total). The private spa also provides several services. I loved the deep tissue massage and salt scrub treatments. Above all, the staff are SO friendly, accomodating, and helpful. The natural surroundings are calm, beautiful and natural. This was a weekend respite trip for me and I was sad to leave. I will definitely return!RATING: 5.0
