The biologists running the Croco-Cun crocodile farm and zoo just north of Puerto Morelos have collected specimens of many of the reptiles and some of the mammals indigenous to the area. They offer immensely informative tours -- you may even get to handle a baby crocodile or feed the deer. Be sure to wave hello to the 500-pound crocodile secure in his deep pit. The farm is open daily 9 AM to 5 PM between September and February and stays open an hour later from March through August; admission is $17.

Crococun Zoo is unlike anything I've ever experienced. Walking amongst live crocodiles isn't something I'll ever have the opportunity to do in Canada. I would highly recommend this place. Our Guide Cesar was wonderful and very informative. And I like the fact that the tour was private and not in a large group.
