Airports & Transfers

Aeropuerto Internacional Los Cabos is 1 km ( 1/2 mi) west of the Transpeninsular Highway (Hwy. 1), 13 km (8 mi) north of San José del Cabo, and 48 km (30 mi) northeast of Cabo San Lucas. The airport has restaurants, duty-free shops, and car-rental agencies. Alaska Airlines has a separate terminal with all services at the airport. Los Cabos flights increase in winter with seasonal flights from U.S. airlines. Aeropuerto General Manuel Márquez de León serves La Paz. It's 11 km (7 mi) northwest of the Baja California Sur capital, which itself is 188 km (117 mi) northwest of Los Cabos. Loreto's Aeropuerto Internacional Loreto is 7 km (4 1/2 mi) southwest of town. Taxis between the La Paz and Loreto airports and their respective towns are inexpensive (about $5) and convenient. Fares from the airport to hotels in Los Cabos are expensive. The least expensive transport is by shuttle buses that stop at various hotels along the route; fares run $12 to $25 per person. Private taxi fares run from $20 to $40. Ask about hotel transfers if you're staying in the East Cape, La Paz, and Todos Santos and you're not renting a car -- cab fares to these areas are astronomical.
