Veracruz -- a region known for its seafood preparations -- meets Los Cabos in an enormous dining room packed with locals. The menu has such hard-to-find regional dishes as octopus ceviche, shrimp empanadas, and a heaping mixed seafood platter that includes sea snails, clams, and octopus, with lobster and shrimp. Musicians stroll among the tables and the chatter is somewhat cacophonous, but you're sure to have a great dining experience here.

We picked a night when it was quite empty but the special seafood platter is generally a good value, though the lobster was filled with filling more than lobster meat. Nice casual place.

Just returned after two weeks and the food at the Mocambo was the best - including Panga Antigua, Marisqeria Mazatlan, not much on atmosphere but spotlessly clean, smiling helpful service AND the freshest seafood excellently prepared good size portions at some of the most reasonable prices. Ate there three times!! We had fresh oysters on the half shell.. Seabass with Veracruz sauce -shrimp.. clams.. mixed seafood platter.. wonderful..they also have decent fajitas - chicken, beef for those who don't fancy fish - Big, bright area and you don't need a flashlight to either read the menu or see each other!
