In this elegant niche above the beach at Cabo del Sol, chef Volker Romeike blends Thai, Polynesian, and Chinese ingredients. He matches lobster with a vanilla-bean sauce, scallops with a sweet chili glaze, and the catch of the day with a Thai curry sauce. Soft jazz plays in the background, and the service is impeccable. Dress to impress.

The ultimate!

Thank goodness we had a $75 off voucher obtained by doing a time share presentation. That made our $210 dinner for two only $135! We did the $80 tasting menu and were not disappointed. We knew it would be our big splurge night, and we're not sorry -- what a lovely setting (but we actually preferred De Cortez at the same resort) and impressive service.

Never never never again

The advertisements said formal attire required, so we drove over from the Westin expecting an elegant dining experience. What we found was a large, loud restaurant filled with (mostly) Americans in t-shirts and pool coverups. It took 20 minutes (and a trip to the hostess) to have a waiter arrive at our table. He hurredly took our order for a bottle of water and handed me the wine list, which was printed in no larger than 4-point type and indecipherable in the dim light. The waiter brought the water in about 10 minutes and took the wine order, but we had to ask him for menus. He returned with one (in Spanish only) for my wife and nothing written in mine. When the waiter did not return for another 10 minutes we decided to depart this wretched place and returned back to the Westin. We had a wonderful meal there at Arricifes. I would suggest the manager at Pitahayas learn a few things from his colleague at the Westin.
