Esperanza

$$$$, The Corridor

User Rating: ***** 4.7

Fodor's Review:

It's an utterly polished inn with a focus on privacy. The smallest suite is 925 square feet. Some suites are right on a secluded beach; all have handcrafted furnishings, Frette linens, and dual-head showers. Villas take the luxe even further with private pools and butler service. Californian and Mexican recipes get a Baja twist in the restaurant. At the spa you can relax with a stone massage or bask in a steam cave.

Not Comparable to Las Ventanas

Posted by GeorgeHonduras from San Pedro Sula, Honduras on 2/18/07

We visited Esperanza from Feb15toFeb17 2007, after staying on Feb 14 2007 at Las Ventanas al Paraiso. La Esperanza seems to have been built and run to compete with Las Ventanas al Paraiso. But Esperanza does not come close in service and details to Las Ventanas. Given that both places cost the same, it is not just to pay the same price for Esperanza, STAY A LAS VENTANAS IF YOU CAN, IT SO MUCH MORE WORTH IT!!

Esperanza is paradise

Posted by Nicole from Washington, DC on 6/28/06

My husband and I were there in February and are returning in July. We've traveled to a number of Caribean and Mexican resorts, but have never been more pleased than we are with Esperanza. Even during peak season you feel like it's your own personal retreat. The property, pools, views and service are spectacular. And the rooms are luxurious and well-appointed. It's pricey, but well worth the expense. Go between Jan and Mar for whale watching. You can even watch from Esperanza's infinity pool.

They had to pry me off the lounge chair...

This place was ultra-relaxing...the little touches like fresh fruit in the room, poolside foot rubs, and the live music at dinner made this trip free from disappointment. Even the least expensive room is ultra-luxurious! The only criticism I could possible have is that the menu is a little lackluster. Some of the entrees are a little mediocre. The spa is unbelieveable - go at dusk and you will return from your service to a lighted passageway and soft glow to the outdoor relaxation area.
