Fodor's Review:

Thanks to the use of solar energy, a water-recycling system, and composting toilets, this unique hotel has very little impact on the environment -- and its luxuriant garden blocks the heat and noise of downtown. Hammocks hang poolside, and wrought-iron tables and chairs dot the grounds. There is artwork throughout the property, much of which was painted by the owner herself (who lives on-site). Standard rooms are small but pleasant and have kitchenettes. The newest accommodations, known as the executive rooms, are larger and have wood floors. There is no smoking allowed in any of the rooms. A great feature is the tiny spa, where you can book honey or chocolate massages that cost a third of what they do in the Zona Hotelera. El Centro's shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

Good Value

Beautiful courtyard, great aromatherapy massage, friendly staff. I wish we had spent more time in Cancun, if only to spend a day or two lounging in a hammock by the pool or indulging in spa treatments. Highly recommended.
