$$$-$$$$, Zona Hotelera
Fodor's Review:
Formerly a time-share property, the Avalon Grand Cancún now operates as a normal hotel. A minimalist, modern design pervades, from the fiberglass lamps and bamboo plants in the high-ceilinged lobby to the dark wood and neutral decoration in the guest rooms. Since the hotel is aiming to attract families, there are little extras for the children, such as their own "check-in" process when they arrive. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is low-key, as even the activities pool here is much calmer than at other resorts. A massive construction project going on next door to the hotel means a lot of noise.
