$$$$, Puerto Juárez
Fodor's Review:
The Blue Bay Club Cancún offers travelers the chance to escape the bustle of the Zona Hotelera, while still enjoying the comforts of a large resort. From the outside, this hotel looks like a sprawling Mexican hacienda, complete with flowerboxes and a terra-cotta-tile roof. Inside, the colonial-Mexican theme continues -- from the huge, wrought-iron chandelier in the lobby to the carved wooden furniture in the guest rooms. Although isolated from the multitude of shops and restaurants that you find in the Zona Hotelera, guests can keep themselves entertained with activities like kayaking and windsurfing on the stretch of ocean right outside the hotel. Here, there is a lot of seaweed, but the water is calm, which is great for the kids. And if parents want to escape to the adults-only Blue Bay Getaway & Spa, they can leave their children in the care of the Blue Bay Club's kids' program for the day. [last.visit]JAN:2007[/last.visit]
