Fodor's Review:

Outfitted with crystal chandeliers, beautiful antiques, and elegant oil paintings, this hotel's style is so European that you may well forget you're in Mexico. Rooms are done in understated shades of teal, beige, and rose, with wall-to-wall carpeting, large balconies overlooking the Caribbean, and marble bathrooms with separate tubs and showers. For families with small children, special rooms with cribs and changing tables are available. A great feature of this resort is its Culinary Center, where guests can participate in wine and tequila tastings or partake in cooking classes. The resort's overall atmosphere is fairly conservative and it is one of the few hotels that charges for children's activities ($45 for a half-day program and $65 for a full-day program).

Always a Pleasure

Posted by lseay from Norman, OK on 3/31/08
My husband and I enjoy a getaway here every winter. We do stay in a suite on the club level, so that takes away a lot of variables. We have noticed that it gets stuffy at night if it is warm. I think they turn the AC off. The staff is very pleasant. It's a shame that the white sand all washed away in the hurricane.

We were there Aug. 2-7, 2007. Our stay was lovely. The service and staff were fantastic. Yes, the prices were very high. We did the Tequila and Wine Tastings--they were fabulous--it was fun and we learned alot. We had 2 children- 19 and 22yrs. old with us. They were disappointed that there were not alot of people their age there. Alot of 12 and under, but they went out to other places and had fun.

Ritz Carlton The best in Cancun

Posted by THERESA10 from Detroit on 12/23/06
My Husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Ritz in Cancun after the reopening in December. We have stayed here several times before. The Hotel looks fantastic. Everything is brand new and the service and staff are outstanding. Yes, the ritz is expensive. Yes, some may feel the prices are very high and can't justify paying the money. However, the old saying goes....You get what you pay for! The best. Every drink, meal and dessert were perfect. The food is so good, fresh and presentation made the food look beautiful. We stayed on the Club level and they have 5 presentations of food through out the day. Each one is really good and had many choices to try. If there is something special you'd like, it wold be their pleasure. The grounds of the Hotel are getting lush and back to normal. They have re planted several palm trees. The flowers were blooming and it was green everywhere. The pool are is lovely. They now have bed pool loungers and I really fell in love with those. The service around the pool is outstanding. The pool staff set you up where you'd like, plush towels on the loungers and great service the whole time. I recommend the beach restaurant. The food is very good and the view is to die for. I would love to get back there ASAP! I'm saving my money.
