This restaurant is more expensive than others downtown -- but worth every penny. The magic starts at the footpath, which leads over a small stream before entering the three-tier circular dining room overlooking the bay. As you watch the sunset, you can choose your fish -- salmon, Chilean bass, tuna, snapper, or grouper -- and have the chef prepare it to your individual taste; or you can pick out a lobster from the on-site pond. Be sure to save room for the key lime pie -- it's the house specialty. The restaurant is named for its waiters -- all of whose names end in the letter "o."

Overpriced

My experience here was completely different. The food was ok but way overpriced for what we got. It was not hot. There were also a lot of mosquitoes so definitely bring bug spray. This is a beautiful place but I like the food at Rolandi's much better if you are looking for an expensive restaurant. Olivia's downtown is much better food for a fraction of the price.

Great find!

A couple we met while snorkling on the Isle saw Casa O's and remembered it from Fodors. We went there after a day of snorkling and it was wonderful. Right on the water and the view and ambience was fantastic. However the food was the best part - the grouper was lightly breaded, pan fried and had mushrooms on it. It was outstanding. Two others got the shrimp which was very good - but after tasting the grouper they wish they ordered it. We met the owner who took time to talk to us which was great. The key lime pie was wonderful. Our only complaint was the bread was stale. However we talked about what a great meal and time we had at Casa O's the whole trip back to Cancun
