As the name implies, young goat -- served charcoal-grilled -- is a specialty of this restaurant, open since 1963. You can also choose from among such truly Mexican dishes as chicken in mole (spicy chocolate-chili sauce); shrimp in tequila; and jerky with egg, fish, and seafood. Wash it down with a cold beer or glass of wine.

A Diamond In The Ruff

Along the same side of the street as the Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood (both get a yarn for same ole same,) Why come to Acapulco, Mexico to eat american food?! As I told my husband. One of the owners pleasantly greeted us and the servers were very helpful to explain the menu. The Tequila shrimp and chicken w/a chcolate chillie sauce was excellent! The building has nice architexure inside and out, a lovely jewelry and historical display of artwork and great authentic music. Had a wonderful traditional experience. A highlight of our trip, on June 3, 2006.

They'll get your goat before they serve it.

We stopped there for dinner one night and were very disappointed with the food and the service. I asked for their preference regarding their goat dinners and after an hour was served a plate of bones with little meat on them. One of the waiters was the former head of the staff at the Princess Hacienda. He was the reason we stopped eating there and he brought his surly mood with him to Cabrito. I'd much rather be greeted warmly by Rufino at La Tortuga and have a delightful meal than ever return to Cabrito.
