Rooms acquire progressively more amenities as you go up the stairs in this friendly hotel on a small street near the La Merced church. First-floor rooms are a tad spartan, with only beds and tables. By the time you get to 2nd floor, there are televisions and nicer furnishings, and the two 3rd-floor rooms offer art on the stone-wash walls and nice views of the Volcán Agua. The hot-water supply is limited here (5:30 to 10 AM and 6 to 10 PM, but, all in all, this is a nice budget find. Pros: good value, friendly owner. Con: limited hot water.
