Just south of town on the water's edge, this hotel has wonderful views over the inner gulf. Rooms have terra-cotta floors, teak furniture, and a veranda with chairs overlooking the well-tended tropical gardens and the shimmering gulf beyond. A pleasant open-air restaurant with fresh-tasting food looks onto the large pool, whose terrace is barely divided from the sea. The restaurant has an extensive wine and cocktail list, and the weekend barbecue buffets ($15) are the best deal in town. The hotel books sportfishing trips and has a good gift shop.
