Pontcysyllte

Pontcysyllte Review

From the canal wharf you can take a horse-drawn boat or a narrow boat (a slender barge) along the Llangollen Canal to the longest and highest navigable, cast-iron aqueduct in the world at Pontcysyllte, a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site. The aqueduct is more than 1,000 feet long. You can also drive there for a view of this early 19th-century marvel, and walk over it. The aqueduct is 3 miles east of Llangollen.
