Llynwenog Silver-Lead Mine

Llynwenog Silver-Lead Mine Review

Outside the village of Ponterwyd, 10 miles east of Aberystwyth, this 200-year-old mine is now an open-air museum where you can wander around reproductions of mining buildings and some original machinery, including working waterwheels. There are also tours of the mines themselves. The experience is very much aimed at kids, who enjoy the chance to pan for precious minerals themselves. It's cold in the mine, even on hot days, so bring a jacket or sweater.
