Antalya

Fodor's Review:

Thanks to its size -- in 2006, about 800,000 people lived here -- the shopping streets have more variety than anywhere else on the Turquoise Riviera, although the merchandise, in general, is the same sort of stuff you find all over Turkey. East and north of the old town walls are where the less expensive clothing shops are to be found, including some jewelry arcades. The old town is where to find more decorative souvenirs, travel agencies, boutique hotels, pansiyons, cheaper restaurants, and the nice little Mermerli Beach outside the harbor wall. The Kenan Evren boulevard along the seafront cliffs toward the museum is where upmarket clothing shops are concentrated, as well as the offices of airlines that run shuttle buses to the airport. A short taxi ride to the west of town is Antalya's fanciest mall, the Migros Shopping Center, Antalya has a tram service that runs every half-hour along the Antalya sea front, circles the old city, and goes out to the Antalya Museum; it costs $1 and departure times are posted at the stops.
