It makes the most sense to fly to the Turquoise Coast if you're coming from Istanbul or elsewhere in Turkey. The main airports here are in Dalaman and Antalya. Antalya is the busiest international airport in Turkey, serving the coast from Alanya to Kaş, including Side, Belek, Olympos, and Finike. Dalaman Airport serves the coast from Kaş to Datça, including Kalkan, Fethiye, Göcek, Dalyan, and Marmaris.
A host of car rental concessions operate at all airports, including all international agencies. Havaş Airport buses also link the two airports to major towns. Major hotels and travel agencies will arrange airport shuttles as well (usually for a fee). Yellow airport taxis are somewhat expensive for individuals but are usually well regulated with a clear legal pricing system prominently displayed, and are a good option if you're sharing.
Taking a bus from Antalya airport into Antalya costs about $8; they're timed to meet all in-coming flights, and leave the city center hourly. Buses to the airport leave the Turkish Airlines building on Cumhuriyet Caddesi (on the clifftop boulevard) once every hour or two. Another bus leaves from nearby Wing Turizm (242/244–2236) at even more irregular times. Yet another option if you're leaving from Antalya main bus station is to take a bus down the highway east of Antalya, get out at the airport intersection, and take one of the taxis waiting there for the last 2 km (1 mi) into the airport itself, for which the taxi charges about $3—it's a bit of a hassle, but something to consider. A taxi to the airport from the center, by comparison, costs $20.
From Dalaman Airport, airport buses will take airline passengers east via Göcek to Fethiye harbor ($15) and west to Marmaris intercity bus terminal ($19). Theoretically, the buses will leave Marmaris three hours before any flight, and Fethiye 2½ hours before. For more precise information, call Havaş, the Dalaman operating representative.
